In the heart of Tianhu Garden in Fujian Province, the imperial harvest of the finest, freshly sprouted buds takes place within a narrow two-day window only once a year. Meanwhile, the jasmine flowers absorb their full fragrance until the end of summer. They are harvested at night when they open and release their essence. The farmers then layer these jasmine blossoms over a bed of young tea buds resting on bamboo mats for a union lasting seven nights, during which the aromas blend perfectly.
